The integrity of God's Word. What does that mean? What does it matter? Perhaps an oxymoron for most, (you know... like jumbo shrimp, government intelligence?!) but I do believe the indoctrination of the religions/denominations we've all been exposed to since birth vexes those of us wanting to have a true relationship with God. Religion by definition is any man made form of worship and stands in contrast to what God would have us to know so we may worship and serve Him on His terms. Not ours. Religion stands in total and complete contrast to godliness. Until one can break free of religious dogma one may not even comprehend the term "the integrity of God's Word" as a serious statement." Since religion, like politics... is wide open to personal perception it can be hard to get a handle on it. "Carnal Christians" are left wondering and unbelievers have plenty of ammo for scoffing. What is the integrity of God's Word? What does it matter? Does understanding what the integrity of God's Word prove profitable to anyone?
One thing you might want to wrap your mind around is the simple fact that God's Word is not the publication we know as The Holy Bible. (Need a minute to let that sink in?!) But that Holy Bible is our foundation to getting to God's Word, His desire for His people. As any rank unbeliever willing to ridicule the bible will be quick to point out, it's an old book, written by men of many generations and passed down through the years through and to different cultures. The funny thing is... that's some of the things a biblical research student needs to understand! It is a very old book. It was actually the very first major book published on the first printing press around 1455 by Gutenberg as a Latin language bible. The King James Version itself finished translation in 1611. And if that's not old enough the first written "bibles" (notably mostly the Old Testament, the "Law") were kept on scrolls, passed down for perhaps hundreds of generations beginning with the stone tablets Moses brought down from Mt. Sinai. (Exodus 31:18)
Look ya'll. You either believe God or ya don't. (Notice I didn't say believe in God) God's Word is God's Will. He's expressed His Heart to us in His Word. You can't see the depth of that unless you've put some time into His Word and take Him at His Word. I realize we all have been indoctrinated by religious dogma. It's just one of them challenges you must overcome to get to Truth. But those that truly are of God, living the agape lifestyle will recognize Truth when they hear it. (I John 4:3 - 6) It's no sweat off'a my ass if you don't believe what I share with you. Those that are led by the spirit God gave them will be attracted by the truth of the spoken word. It's the truth of the spoken Word of God which... spiritually speaking, is light piercing the dark fog that envelopes people's hearts and minds. If the sharings I present on this blog bless you, if you find yourself getting excited... well that's the spirit of God working within you! If it irritates you? Let's just say ya might have some spiritual problems! Probably more so if you're caught up in religion! I ain't out to convert the scoffers. They choose to reject God and the truth of His Word? That's their God given right. (Kind'a ironic... idn't it?!) Free choice had to be made available or God would not be light. He would not be love. Evil had to be a choice. Otherwise we would be enslaved to worship a god we have no interest in. And that's not agape. That's not the love of and for God that He wants us to come to Him with. Those that are of Him come to Him on His terms! Period! There's no joy in being forced to have a relationship with anyone! It's His Creation. It's His rules. That's just the way it is! You think you can create a better universe? Have at it!
Now... for those of us that do believe... what is the first thing we must know concerning the prophecy of the scriptures? God's Word tells us in II Peter 1:20, "Knowing this first, (This is a command) that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation." You see that word "private?" In the Greek text it's the word "idios" and means "one's own." It's where we get our English word "idiot." The word "interpretation" in this verse is the Greek word "epilusis" which means "a letting loose, as letting dogs loose on the game." All religion is man made in that religion is one's own, private, (idiotic) letting loose of what they think God's will is. They don't or can't come to an understanding of what a certain principal in life might be so... instead of going to the author of life and letting His Word speak for itself, they offer their own private opinion of what is godly. Once you start guessing at God's Word... what God's will is, you start building your own religion. And your opinion, like that of a 5 year old's opinion on string theory, is rather worthless. When it comes to spiritual matters God is just not impressed with your opinion! And neither is the true household! II Peter 1:21 - "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man (it didn't come by the will of man, it's not religion) but holy men of God spake as they were moved (inspired) by the Holy Ghost" ('ghost' today should be translated 'spirit', lower case "s". It came by way of the spirit they had received of God. By revelation!) The original Word of God was when these prophets of God actually spoke the words which are recorded in the Old Testament, the Gospel period and the beginning of this "Mystery Revealed" period, this grace administration we're in now. What we know as the Holy Bible is a very old book, translated from other languages, from ancient civilizations. Those that approach this bible with their modern, western perceptions are destined to fail to come to an accurate knowledge but will be able to glean bits and pieces of truth. Certainly enough to make enough sense to some on any certain subject. Or no religion or denomination would have any following. For true spiritual growth a true disciple must learn to get past these barriers in order to get to the Truth... in all categories available! To be able to rightly divide not between what is good and bad. But between what is good and what is best.
It's God's heart that all would be His people but because He is love he's given all mankind choice. (Ya realize don't'cha?! This is why we humans love freedom so much! It's hardwired in us!) It's available to have a relationship with God but it has to be on HIS terms, which we find in His Word. It's ALWAYS God's heart that His people have THE BEST in life. But again, it's on His terms... But!... and herein lies our dilemma... it's our choice! Do we believe God or do we put the senses realm above what He tells us? I'm here ta tell ya! God can be trusted! Yeah... we have our challenges in life and some of us have had to endure terrible things... but... is that God's fault?! No! It's not! (In case ya didn't know!) Religious doctrines will tell you ya probably had it coming. Which is true. The only thing we're all worthy of is death. And up to this point we all get it. But that's not God's heart! It's because of God's love and grace we can claim the promises He gives us in His Word to not only survive this life to an old age but to live it in the abundance it was meant to be! And! Get a glimpse of the future he's made ready for His children! Until that future comes, we, God's chosen, have an enemy to deal with that has his kingdom set up all around us. How well can you see it? We can't perceive it accurately without His spirit to guide us and an accurate knowledge of God's Word. This might come to you as a shock but God can't do anything. That's right! He can't! He has limited himself to His Word. Hebrews 6:17 & 18 reads, "Wherein God, willing more abundantly to show (He really wants to show!) unto the heirs of the promise (that's us!) the immunity of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable (unchangeable) things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, (God's Word is God's Will) we might have a strong consolation, (we have His Word) who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us." It's an amazingly awesome privilege to be living in this period of time... living in what God's Word calls 'The Mystery Revealed!" Have ya ever noticed Deuteronomy 29:29 before? This was given to man waaay before this mystery time in which we live in now was revealed to men. "The secret things (including this "mystery revealed" or "grace administration") belong unto the Lord our God but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law." ("Law" was an O.T. believers word for God's Word.) God does give us everything He can when He can. Ephesians 3:3 - 5, "If ye have heard of the dispensation (administration, period of time) of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation He made known unto me the mystery (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto His holy apostles and prophets by the spirit." This 'mystery" has been revealed but has been rather successfully covered up. Wanna guess by what? Religion!
Have ya ever "dissected" Hebrews 4:12?! "For the word of God is quick and powerful (living and energetic) and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and morrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." This Word of God is sharper than any blade a man could make in that it separates (divides assunder) the soul (the mind, heart, intellect and will of a man. And where religion resides.) and spirit (that eternal part of life that God puts in a man or woman's life. His spiritual seed. Where godliness resides.) and is the criterion, our standard (discerner). God's Word rightly divided shows us when we are thinking properly spiritually, our minds tracking on His Word or... thinking wrong by putting that which we perceive in the natural realm above the spiritual knowledge God has given us. "And of the joints and marrow" is a figure of speech which shows just how precisely God's Word cuts in that... as far as I know... it is still physically impossible to cleanly cut marrow from bone.
God has given us that which we need to know. It's available to know not only this mystery time in which we live today as it was given to Paul as he was "moved" or inspired by holy spirit, but also what is really going on in the spiritual realm. (Did you know the prophets of old "diligently searched" the scrolls for and that even the angels tried to get a peak of this mystery?! I Peter 1:10 -13) God is light and in Him in NO darkness at all. (I John 1:5) Which means He CANNOT lie! He has made His Word available to all the world but He has given His Word to His People. The integrity of God's Word stands. His Word will stand long after what we know as time ceases. It's our job to study this Word, to cut through religion, time, language and culture. (II Timothy 2:15) God does NOT fall short in His promises. WE fall short in understanding His Will by way of His Word to us! It's like anything else in life. You truly want something and you want the best... you go after it. So git after it! I'm tellin' ya! God will blow your mind!
